Advanced Academics

The goal of Marlin ISD’s Advanced Academics program is to provide educational opportunities so that each identified GT student is given the opportunity to reach his or her maximum potential. Gifted students will be provided with differentiated instruction of depth and complexity to help them reach his or her maximum potential.

We provide students identified as gifted and/or talented with differentiated instruction of depth and complexity. Students who qualify for the Gifted and Talented Program will receive appropriate GT services at their current MISD campus from specially-trained teachers.

Dual Credit
Dual Credit is an advanced instructional partnerships that is offered between a local education agency and an Institute of Higher Education (IHE) with an officially signed agreement. Course credit is provided to high school students for both high school and college credit. College credit may be for certificate or associate degree programs. College courses offered for dual credit must  be college-level academic courses in the current edition of the Lower Division Academic Course Guide Manual or as college-level workforce education courses in the current edition of the Workforce Education Course Manual.  Public colleges may not offer remedial and developmental courses for dual credit.

Marlin ISD is partnered with McClennan Community College to offer dual credit opportunities to our students.
